Manitenance Tips

Keep Your Floors Looking Their Best Between Professional Cleanings

A little maintenance goes a long way. Whether you have carpet, tile, hardwood, or VCT, the right care can help your flooring look better and last longer. At Revive Floor Care, we believe in educating our clients so they can protect their investment. Below are some of our top maintenance tips you can follow at home.

Vacuum Regularly

For carpeted areas, we recommend vacuuming at least once per week. High-traffic areas may need more frequent attention. Make sure your vacuum has a clean bag or filter and a working beater bar to lift dirt from deep within the carpet fibers.

Spot Cleaning

If you spill something on your carpet or upholstery, clean it up immediately using a blotting motion — not rubbing. Use a clean cloth and a mild cleaning solution or spot remover safe for your surface. Test in a small area first to avoid discoloration.

Check Your
Vacuum’s Beater Bar

Your vacuum’s beater bar (or brush roll) can get tangled with hair and debris, making it less effective. Check and clean it regularly to ensure it's working properly.

Change Your
Vacuum Bag or Filter

A full vacuum bag or dirty filter reduces suction and spreads dust around instead of collecting it. Empty the bag or replace the filter regularly to maintain performance.

Vacuum Before
Carpet Cleaning

Before scheduling a professional carpet cleaning, vacuum the area to remove loose dirt and debris. This allows the deep cleaning equipment to reach deeper into the fibers.

How Often Should You
Professionally Clean?

We recommend professional carpet cleaning every 12 months for most homes — or more often if you have pets, kids, or high foot traffic. Tile, hardwood, and VCT floors also benefit from periodic professional care to remove buildup and restore appearance.
